Our Trip to Washington D.C.
While Matt's parents were visiting in June we all made a trip to our nation's capital, it was quite an emotional experience; to be able to see all the sites that we learned about in school. The picture above and to the left is the Ford's Theatre where President Lincoln was shot and the building where he died is above, as you can see it looks the same as it did then. The following are some pictures of the city and of the different monuments. My favorite monuments were the Lincoln Memorial,World War II Memorial and the Vietnam Memorial.

The picture to the left is the WWII Memorial, this memorial was just recently added and is breathtaking. Something I really enjoyed about the monuments was the layout, they are all very close to eachother. You can see the Lincoln Memorial in the picture above in the distance and also the reflecting pool.
This picture is of the Vietnam memorial it doesn't really show it very well but it's a very somber place. It is a sleek black wall, that starts low to the ground and rises with the hill, each space on the wall is filled with a name of a fallen hero. The Lincoln Memorial was a lot larger than I expected, and the architecture was beautiful but I think the easiest thing to do is go see it all yourself! We had a lot of fun on this trip and are hoping to go up there again soon! Hopefully our friends Nancy and Shane will be meeting us there in October. There is so much to see and do and I think everyone should go at least once. :)

Foamhedge

On our way back from Natural Bridge we stumbled across this life sized replica of the actual Stonehedge and had to stop and check it out. The entire thing is made out of styrofoam, hence the name Foamhedge. Not only was this fun to see but the scenery around the site was gorgeous.

Okay, I know I haven't updated this in a very long time, so my apologies. These are pictures when we went to the Natural Bridge in Virginia. The picture below is of the "lost river," to this day they do not know where this river goes or comes from, even after many tests.

This is a picture of me on the trail to the Natural Bridge and the last picture is of the Natural Bridge. The amazing thing about this bridge is it is actually used for cars to go over, so of course, we had to drive over it. :)

Day at the Beach

Today we went to Yorktown Beach with our friends, as you can see the dogs went with us. I was alittle worried about Roxie because she's so shy and I didn't know how she would handle everything but she defiantly had a good time. In the above picture Roxie and Gracie are playing tag, at least that's what it looked like from our persceptive. For the most part we let our dogs play off the leash and all of them did remarkabley well. As you can see Matt had to take up a second job as a dog walker to pay for all of Roxie's toys. :) Well we miss everyone and love you guys very much!!

Introducing Roxie
I just wanted to put some pics up of our new addition. I got her while Matt was down in Mississippi and can you blame me look at those eyes. Her and Matt didn't get along at first, well more Roxie not liking Matt than the other way around, but now they are best buds. Matt gives her anything she wants, so there went any training out the window. She's really shy and needs some extra love but she has come out of her shell a lot since we got her. Well I just wanted to drop a note letting everyone know we were still alive. Miss and love you all.

Christmas in Virginia

Merry Christmas everyone!!! Matt and I hope that everyone had a great Christmas. Ours was nice we missed everyone but we still were at least fortunate to be able to spend it together. We weren't sure until about a week before Christmas if Matt was going to have to go back to Mississippi but luckily he doesn't have to go back until after the new year. This year it was strange not running back and forth between our families on Christmas, so it defiantly was a new experience for both of us. On Christmas Eve WE cooked a big dinner, which you can see in the picture below. I know what you are thinking Matt and I cooked!?!?! Well it's true and we have the pictures to prove it. :)

After dinner we went to Mass, it was a Childrens' Mass and the children put on a pagent, it was adorable. We then came home and opened a present, Matt wanted to open more but got over it after some whining.
On Christmas Day Matt made us get up at 5:00 am to open presents!! You would think we had children. :) Especially, since he tried to trick me and set the clock a hour ahead so the alarm actually went off at 4! Thank you for everything we recieved we are very grateful to have such great family and friends. We miss all of you and wish we could have spent the holidays with family and friends but hopefully next year. Here's some pictures of our tree and our decorations around the house. Love you all. :)

Thanksgiving at the Beavers.
This year we had Thanksgiving at our friends, Amber and Josh's home; as you can see we had quite a feast. Matt and I brought the rolls, my grandma's jell-o salad and pumpkin pie. Believe it or not but I baked them all, with constant calls back home to make sure I was doing things right.
The picture below and to the left is of me making the jell-o salad. The one below is the *men* doing the dishes after dinner. Josh was trying to conceal the evidence but he wasn't fast enough.

The pictures below are pics of our apartment. The one on the left is our living room. The picture to the right is our dining room, as you can see we ran out of room to stick furniture so our papazun ended up in the dining room. Last but not least our second bedroom that Matt finally finished.*I know I was quick about it*

Well I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and we'll chat later.
